[Markus]

Markus gave a light yawn as he walked into the barracks of squad two. The smaller captain had been up for almost two days now and unfortunately now needed the help of his least favorite squad. It wasn’t his favorite place on earth where he had convinced himself that his job was defense and nothing more, squad two’s job was assassinations, and very little else at that. The only real good thing about the squad was that it was a small walk away from his barracks meaning he could get some sleep after he was done here, oh that and the fact that the new captain was a woman with a body that was elegantly attractive.

The day was a bright one with only a handful of fluffy white clouds in the sky. Divisions two barracks was interesting in the way that it had a confusing layout, and Markus soon found himself lost in only a few short steps. Markus’s office was adjacent to the gardens of his squad, he had assumed the layout would be similar to that, but it seemed with his already tired state of mind it did not take him much effort to become completely lost. “Are you for real? How do you even function outside of your work.”

Markus shrugged honestly he was not cut out for defense, his zanpakuto was much more about wonton destruction, and there was a reason his former captain had barred him from taking missions in the human world. As a captain his new duties mostly pertained to reading reports, dispatching others, and although it was the duty of the 8th squad (a job he had thought about taking for a long time.) he maintained a volunteer teaching position at the academy. Oh and he was one of the last lines of defense for soul society. So mostly his job involved boredom… lots and lots of boredom.

Stretching he didn’t really have another way to get a hold of the captain of the squad, and lost as he was he had no reason not to send out a flare for his position so he let loose his reiatsu, his considerable energy filling the halls like a giant signal to anyone willing to pay attention. It was a poor way to get the attention of anyone paying attention, but he was lost, and tired so he would let the second squad come to him and give himself a small break.

[Kasumi Suzume]

The soft fragrance of the spider lilies hung in the air of the clean office. There wasn't a trace of dust in it. In fact the office was probably one of the most immaculate among the the other captains. The soft swish could be heard, Kasumi say behind her desk writing in a file. Pausing she sighed slightly. It was a pain to always be doing this work but if the soutaicho wanted it she'd do it. Looking at the blanks that needed to be filled in now the red eyes glittered. This was annoying. Closing the file he slipped it away in her desk, pulling out a key to lock it from prying hands of any shinigami who might pass through. After doing this Kasumi heard a chuckle from her spirit who wanted the woman to do something more than work. Work was never fun, not enough emotion behind it for him to feed on. He got the best fill of emotion when she was hurting emotionally or in a battle. Kirin pondered if he should push her into fighting someone. The doll like captain paused hearing foot steps in the hallway. Cautiously she peered out into the hallway. It seemed that there was a student wandering her halls. The white and red uniform gave the student away right away. Shoving her hands into her modified uniform Kasumi idly wandered out from the door way, her officers knew better than to interrupt while she was working. The white haori fluttered around her gently as she continued down the hallway making the barest of noises while she moved. More than anything she was curious about why a student would be here. Squad eight generally didn't let their precious children get caught here. Especially when the temperament of most of her men was not the best. "Are you lost little one?" The Captain soothed softly her voice coming out in rich melodic notes. Slowly the red eyes flicked to the figure behind the student.

Why was another captain in her barrack? Kasumi didn't remember extending the invitation. Especially to the human world captain. It was clear both squads disliked one another. Kasumi stared in silence at the other captain, the red eyes narrowing for a moment before clearing her throat like she had something to say. "You're short." It was a simple observation. Was he... a midget? Hell most captains were taller than her. The fact she could see clearly over the other Captain's head made the special's Ops leader at a loss of words. Guess there wasn't a height standard when it came to being a captain. Hopefully he didn't get picked on too much for the tiny stature. Clearing her throat, Kasumi nodded her head. "Welcome to my squads safe haven. Why're you two here? Unless you need someone killed without any leads to you, or you want into the Maggost's Nest." Kasumi was serious as she spoke. There was no laughter in her eyes. She was pretty straight laced, it wasn't abnormal for shinigami to pay off to want someone else murdered. Though Kasumi usually only reported this. Though a good enough bribe... The thought was Kirin's. Kasumi pushed back the greed of her spirit who started laughing at her. The laughter was slow and throaty. It wasn't a noise she enjoyed in the least. It was so unnatural sounding in her ears.

Kasumi feigned a smile, the red eyes glittering like an animal watching its prey. "Or, do you have interest in this squad? I assure you we treat new comers well. Well enough that you don't leave us despite what you might see in the future."

[Markus]

Little one, short, the words rang out in Markus’s head as he turned to great the master assassin herself. His eyes twitched lightly at the comment on his height, she wasn’t that much taller than him, and what right did the doll captain have to make fun of his appearance, her body looked far more like that of a china doll as attractive as it was it was the body you would expect of a model not a captain. His eyes rolled sourly in his head of course she would have to focus on his bad side, all women did. He was used to it, well that and the lifelong status of rejection he usually carried with him. Markus’s Appearance was slightly frayed at best his eyes were slightly red, and his usually well-kept red hair had gone to hell. The thing that had kept him up for the last two days was grading, and preparing the new sets of graduates one of which he was currently escorting. “I am well aware of my stature captain Suzume I think it odd that you would be the one to remind me of it.” Markus said as he waved off the comment.

Markus had never let his size hurt him, but the constant rejection by women had however harmed his spirits, and was probably why his zanpakuto was also so angry, on one level he thought that she was a small manifestation of his rage, but that wasn’t what he was here to talk about. “As you may or may not know I moonlight as a teacher for the academy, Actually captain I think I had you as a student once when you were much younger. Any way the point is part of my job is to show some of the students around their chosen barracks on kind of a one on one tour, this student wants to be a part of your squad, and I was wondering if you could help to give us a tour.”

Markus sighed Kasumi was cute, but she clearly lacked moral ethics, it had barely been five seconds and she had asked him if he was looking to have anyone killed. Markus wasn’t the type that would hire assassins in all honesty he had once thought about applying to the second squad, but as Tempra had assured him his zanpakuto was far too loud for assassinations. He sighed in the end it was odd to think about how few places would have taken him in this world with his height and looks, it was no wonder so few thought of him as an actual captain. “That is if you don’t have somewhere you need to be.”

[Kasumi Suzume]

A slight arch of her brow was all that seemed to come from her. The raven hair was pulled tight up against her head which was normal for her. It was rare for anyone to see her with the rich black locks down around her shoulders. Not that she'd admit that. With her hair pulled back and the rather revealing uniform it seemed like she was high light her tattoo and scars that lingered all over her body. The red eyes burned darkly as she opened her mouth in reply. "How assumptive that you thought I was talking to you the first time Alistair. I was talking to the student. I wouldn't sound nice talking to you, let's be honest we do not see eye to eye." The low growl in her voice was more of a confrontation than anything. The woman was mean and it wasn't something she was aiming to change any time soon. No one really knew why she was so cruel, she just merely was. Kasumi was used to people thinking she should be no where near the battle grounds. They treated her like a child that needed coddling more than the assassin she was. Slowly she tugged her fingers on the edge of her pristine white haori. A look of calm laced across her face her reiatsu wavering before being smothered. Really Kasumi didn't want to hurt the new recruit, that'd be a shame. The red eyes lingered on Markus's face memorizing the planes and slopes of it for a moment. He looked like shit. That pleased her like a kitten with a bowl of cream. After all she never let her own appearance fall that much. It seemed almost disgraceful in a way. Each to their own. She liked to be clean and presentable at all times, it was her habit nothing more. She let out a slow huff noise at Markus, it wouldn't kill him to bathe and take some tea to work on his nerves. Slowly she fixated the frightening eyes onto the student with a look that suggested she rather eat them like a hollow would than be useful. So much for the break she wanted.

Kasumi blinked slowly when she realized that the student looked genuinely scared of her. "I know what most captains around here do, Alistair. Us cold blooded people need something to do for hobbies, I keep track of my fellow captains." Her voice was a light purr. He mentioned teaching her once, looking calmly the woman tried to remember if he had indeed taught her. Maybe. He must take some flack being as short as he was and a captain. A tour? Kasumi offered a thin look to Markus, damn. Well there went her break. Offering her arm to the student to take she walked slowly with a woman like air. Even monsters held themselves in some esteem even if it was a bad one. "Then I'll do a tour, you may go if you want Alistair. Your student will remain unharmed." Her voice was gentle. Kasumi cared about her squad members more than anything. They were family even if they hated one another she'd go to great lengths to protect them. "Nice of you to consider that perhaps another captain has duties, Captain Alistair." Her voice held a taunting note to it as she spoke freely. Kirin was feeding off her good emotions, turning the tide so that he could remain well fed. The thought was more than enough to cause her tighten her grip on the student. It was a hard hold but gentle enough to the point it wouldn't leave any marks on him. Looking down the hallway Kasumi lead them towards one of the training room where he squad members were working away. The look in her eyes was pride for a moment before clearing her throat. "This is one of our training rooms. Despite being the special Ops we focus on combat as most other squads would. We're not that much different." She expressed with a twitch of her mouth. The red eyes were warm, the first time the monster seemed gone from behind the gaze replaced by someone who cared for her men and women.

Finally she stepped through the room, shinigami hollering friendly greetings to her. Kasumi flashed a bright smile waving her free hand gently before pulling the student into the next room. Here there were men and women sleeping peacefully on their down time. "When you need somewhere to sleep we provide it." Looking to Markus she mused why he'd be the one to bring the student here when it was squad eight's duty to do so. Eh whatever made the midget happy.

[Markus]

A light sigh of exasperation escaped Markus as he rolled his eyes at Kasumi’s attitude. It was odd that she would assume how he saw things in the world. Although he greatly disliked division two, and Kasumi’s current outlook and attitude he didn’t think they were too different. The law was something that needed to be upheld, and Kasumi represented an underground version of that law, the only difference between his day job, and hers is that his was put out in the light so she could better work. Her hobby however of tracking captain activity sounded boring to Markus. “You know Kasumi you barely know me. Who’s to say that we wouldn’t work well together? Who knows maybe you just need to stop looking down at others.” Markus said with a light and rather playful tone. If Kasumi was really going to as stern as she wanted that was fine, but Markus wouldn’t allow it to block him and he may as well extend a kind fun hand. He had heard that around friends Kasumi was more personable, Markus wasn’t on that social level, but the two squads were neighbors Markus may as well extend his hand to try and be as friendly as possible with the younger assassin, and who knows she was cute after all.

Markus could see only some of the scars that Kasumi bore on her body, and he made no comment on them, if anything they were like his size most probably it was something they didn’t enjoy talking about. Markus instead focused lightly on the tattoo was a curious gaze that wasn’t the kind of artwork he would have expected a captain of Kasumi’s body type to have, and he couldn’t really tell what it was with her still being covered. If he ever did manage to see Kasumi without her robes he would have to inquire about it. Markus blinked that thought had come out of left field for him there was little doubt about that, and for a moment he scratched his head trying to figure out where it had come from. “pervert.” His zanpakuto spirit spoke in a low accusing growl and Markus had to shake his head. “I think it is obvious that I need to stick around Kasumi, after all you have been in my squads home several times, defense tends to keep its tabs on the people that come and go after all, and I know you have your duties, I just finished mine before I came here so I can bug you.”

Markus gave a light smile to Kasumi in truth he hadn’t really wanted to bring a student anywhere, and he could have easily chosen another teacher to deal with this job, but there was also a small benefit to guiding this student, and that was coming here, despite his mixed feelings towards the second division he still wanted to keep tabs on the place after all the maggots nest provided a considerable risk to the defense of the gotie 13, not to mention they were a division of former thieves, and current assassin’s Markus had often been worried about the second division keeping tabs on it and its captain allowed him to sleep more soundly, if he ever slept. Exams were over and Markus no longer needed to mark tests for the next few months he would be able to sleep to his heart’s content. Markus looked at Kasumi “No but thank you for your offer Kasumi I don’t think I need to sleep any time soon. If however you don’t mind me asking what does your division have for relaxation? Is there any chance of finding a sauna?”

Markus paid attention to the tour “You get rooms to train in? we just have several garden areas in my squad… why do I get the feeling that the 13th squad got ripped off when we were choosing barracks’s.”

[Kasumi Suzume]

Kasumi looked at Markus the crimson eyes flashing with annoyance. Kasumi was very much liberal about the law. If anyone tried to break it she would show them their place in the world. That was how it worked out. There was nothing else he could do about how she was. "I'm not looking down, unless you mean literally. I am merely offering you the extension of the murmurs I hear through out the Gotei. I'm tired of people assuming that I'm going to be smiles and jolly." The weariness in her voice was evident. Kasumi had to keep her standard high about herself. Finally she turned her gaze away from Markus. He could think of her as he wanted she was not here to change anyone's opinion. All the Suzume woman was around for was to make sure the squad ran smoothly at all times with no dangers to those that worked around her. Slowly her fingers trailed along one of the senbon hidden in the haori. Kausmi was a trained killer, did Markus really expect her to give a damn if they worked well with one another? Kasumi honestly had next to no friends, she was content like this. After all it was hard to have a social life when she was needed at almost all hours of the day and night. The moments she got to herself were spent having tea in her office or passed out in the sleeping room. Yes she did have her own home to sleep in but it seemed easier just to sleep with her men and women than wander somewhere else while they all slept together. They were her family and she'd never put herself above them because each of them meant something special to her even if she never admitted it.

Kasumi flashed a frightening smile. Yes she had been in his home. The red eyes were lit with amusement for a moment before she turned her attention to the student at her side. "Well, next time I'll make sure to leave little notes written around your home. Also - You need new fruit, yours are going bad." The purr in her voice was rather clear before shaking her head. Captain Alistair was too easy to shoot remarks back at. The man was lucky she had a sense of humor because if it had been of her bad days and he said that to her? He would've found himself locked in Maggot's Nest for a couple hours.

Looking over to Markus when he spoke, Kasumi smiled slightly. They did have sauna's with a pool. Waving them to follow her she moved through the crowd heading further inside. Pausing she flashed a smile. "Welcome to our safe haven." Opening the door showed a tropical looking pool with a water fall, behind the water fall was a room that lead into the sauna. The red eyes danced with laughter as she walked inside. Men and women were having fun yelling between one another before laughing. It was the soft side to the assassins who seemed willing to take any under table deal. Kasumi watched her men and women for a moment with a gentle look before looking to Markus. "Do you have anything like this in your squad?" She asked with a curious glance. Kasumi invaded offices and homes not barracks. She was certain she'd scare squad members too much if she did that. "Gardens are nice. Guess you guys don't have to worry all the time like we do." She mused softly.

[Markus]

There was a slight sigh as Markus shook his head. Why did he even keep so much fruit in the first place? He almost never ate the stuff. The rumors however that floated through the gotie 13 didn’t surprise him. Markus was an old captain and was slightly more stern then most to a teacher the teacher turned defense the law was something he took great pride in. However the rumors he had heard about Kasumi marked her as a lonely woman, and perhaps even lonelier than she knew if she was breaking into his office and home. Jokingly he smiled towards Kasumi “Could it be that I have a stalker? My dear Suzu-chan I am flattered at the attention you are willing to pay me.” Markus knew just how dangerous Kasumi was, and actually prepared himself for a small conflict over the new pet name, though it did have a ring to it, and if she would let him it could be a fun way to torment the cute and slightly lonely captain. “If you were to believe every rumor, than I believe you would be a heartless ice queen, or someone who plays around with friends and loves her squads. Honestly Kasumi it makes me wonder who you really are?”

Markus’s jaw dropped when he saw the pool, looking over the tropical attire to it, he was lost for words slightly. The entire thing looked so out of place from the ideas of murderers and assassins, and also a very important thought rang out in his head. Why didn’t his barracks have an indoor pool? And she had a sauna? Was she for real? This was something he expected to find on a resort, but then again all squads had a place to unwind and have fun, squad 13’s was just a little different. “Hot springs, the thirteenth division has 3 of them apparently they were here when we were setting up the seireitai, so instead of destroying them they built around them, and the thirteenth squad now uses them as co ed bath houses, and spa’s. They were actually the main reason I joined the thirteenth instead of the 8th squad. The academy has nice grounds, but the 8th barracks isn’t as open as the thirteenth. And everything in our squad is usually out in the sun, which works great in the summer and winter, when the hot springs can function, but rain always ruins the fun in my squad. You should drop in some time the water is mineral heavy and is great for your skin. After all I think I will be spending a bit more time in your barracks now. We are neighbors after all.” He said with all seriousness. They had a pool and a sauna, he was going to use these facilities in the future, and really it was the least she could do for breaking and entering.

He smiled looking out at the squad that he was watching. For assassin’s when they were at play he could hardly tell if they were her squad mates or his. In all honesty because he ran defense he tended to think of everyone as his squad mates, he was supposed to be the last line of defense after all, and it was hard to not want to defend people when they were so busy just enjoying themselves. Markus was trained to be just as deadly as Kasumi he was a captain after all, but his zanpakuto was destructive and unpleasant, and the majority of his skills rested in kido, making him a very different kind of killer then kasumi. In the end he wasn’t really feeling a difference between her squad and his squad, and that was slightly scary. He turned to the student giving him a light nod. He was confident the student would fit in around here, and actually he felt a little more content now that he knew the captain of the second squad did have a sense of humor. They probably found different things funny but they could actually talk, and that was interesting to the older captain.

[Kasumi Suzume]

Kasumi smiled thinly, what did Markus expect her to say. Slowly she tipped her head to the side in a dog like manner, "Both are true, just depends who you are." The words rolled off her tongue with ease before wondering if he had death wish. She was very firm on who she trusted calling her that and who she didn't trust. The woman was tempted to lock him in the Maggot's Nest after that. Stupidity made some bold where they should've been cautious. "Watch it Ali-kun, you might find yourself tucked in nice and safe in the Maggot's Nest for the night." The warning hung in the air as she a flashed a bright smile to Markus the red eyes holding laughter in them. There was a rumor about that she locked a man in there one night on of the worst levels with inmates for making her angry, he never came out the same. Kasumi looked to Markus, would he last trough something like that? It'd be a fun test to try on him. Her fingers brushed along his arm as she pulled the smaller captain close. "Do you think you'd survive? I think it'd be a neat test, don't you?" The way she was close to him it made it look like she was saying something more intimate in the Captain's ear to avoid making the student jumpy. After all the boy hadn't earned her ire only the other captain who thought it'd be smart enough to use a name that was personal.

Kasumi smiled, hot springs? That didn't surprise her. "Well, at least you guys have something to take off the edge then. It's much better than nothing." The woman nodded her head looking thoughtful about it. The red eyes glittered softly before she moved through the room, the sounds of shouts and laughter were clear. Looking over to the Markus and the student she looked amused. Slipping from the pool room through another room brought them to fully functional baths. Kasumi continued through figuring there was no point to stop in the baths. Moving through they came to a garden terrance. Kasumi looked at it before swishing past them to make sure the vegetables that were growing fine and the weeds were checked. Red spider lilies edged the side of the flower bed. After a few minutes she paused and then looked to the student and captain. "We're self sufficient here, growing vegetables, fruits and the likes. There's a pen of animals we keep fed on special feed to make sure they're healthy." The woman looked at ease. This was her safe haven for the squad. Blinking she looked at the pair for a moment then moved away from the garden swiping her hands along her side to get the dirt off of them.

Moving through once more she brought them to the main court yard. "Well, I guess that's the main walk through. We don't have much else for you to look at. I can answer questions though." The was wondering if there was anything they needed answered.

[Markus]

Markus gave a smile he wasn’t actually afraid of the maggots nest or Kasumi for that fact, he knew he should be a little more tense with her, but at the same time she just seemed so cute, and when he was pulled close to Kasumi seeing her smile She was promising him a night in the maggots nest if he continued to play around with her, and he knew full well the rumor about the young man who had came before was a truth, though the rumor had also said it was an ex boy friend, but who would believe that? If it had really been her lover gone rouge then he never would have gotten out of the nest. “I guess the jury must still be out on who I am then, because I am just going to say it I am loving your company right now. Tests only work if I get something out of them dear Kasumi, but since you hit my interest, what would I gain from passing a night in your nest of horrors.” Markus was actually enjoying his time with Kasumi she was easy to play around with and annoy; her reactions were slightly on the side of adorably deadly.


As they walked through the baths Markus’s perverted instincts kicked in and he spent several seconds checking out some of the finer woman who were washing up. And Markus kept quiet as they finished the tour. He waited till Kasumi had asked if there were any questions, and Markus immediately rose his hand. He knew what would happen the moment he opened his mouth to say anything at this point it was just too tempting to not ask. “Do you have a boyfriend? Oh and is it true you have a collection of stuffed animals?” even the student seemed to turn to Markus and gave a face palm. If she had threatened to kick him into the maggots nest before as a test it seemed that he was destined to be the one that pushes all of her buttons to see just how far the other captain would go. This was markus for you he wasn’t all that stupid, but he was brave, brave enough to piss of someone several times stronger than himself. Even now he wasn’t really picking on Kasumi he was just playing with her pushing her buttons and trying to see how she would react.

Honestly the main reason he was able to play around with Kasumi like this, was because she looked to be the same age as him. it was true she was taller than the other captain, but they both resembled 17 year olds in appearance. Growing up in the real world he had never had friends, and even now because of his appearance he still didn’t have any friends, his playful demeanor with Kasumi was more out of the fact that he felt a small amount of kinship with her, even if he didn’t want to admit that directly, and the fact that there personalities seemed to clash made it just a little to fun to walk away from her. He didn’t know if the female captain could see it but he did have some pure intentions with annoying her, either way he had just baught his one way ticket to spending the night in the maggots nest. “I think I just added another location to my tour didn’t I Suzu-chan?” ~Fuck it what else do I have to lose at this point may as well go for all the points am I right?~ Markus gave Kasumi a kind and slightly smug smile. Honestly he wasn’t finding a reason to be afraid of her.

[Kasumi Suzume]

Kasumi stared down Markus the red eyes showing annoyance. Was he intentionally trying to earn her ire? What a stupid man he was. Blinking slowly, Kasumi turned away from Markus for a moment to think about what he said. "I don't judge until I've spent ample time around the person Alistair. So yes the jury is still out." Her voice was cool. Tests only worked if there was something in the end? Would his life suffice for the goal in the end? The thought was a tempting one. Her nest of horrors? Slowly the woman turned back with a scathing look. Alistair seemed to be enjoying digging himself a grave. Slowly she moved forward towards him with the grace of a predator. Kirin was enjoying the anger that rippled off of her, he certainly enjoyed the other captain. "What would you want for surviving the night with your new room mates?" Kasumi asked with a light look wondering what his appeal would be. If it was ridiculous she could easily veto it out. This was turning into a pain in the ass for her. The crimson eyes were searching the face of the man who was shorter than her. Personally she had a thing for taller men mostly because it was better to be picked up than to be the smallest person around. Though with Markus, Kasumi knew she could pick him up. Thinking about it a slight arrogant smile tugged at the corner's of her mouth. It would be funny to see him squirm in the confines of the maggot's nest. Maniacs lived in that place, it was relaxing to think about. Markus in all odds wouldn't enjoy the situation she was about to place him in. He shouldn't have been such an idiot to tempt the anger of the second division captain. She wasn't known for being overly nice.

When he asked about her relationship status and her collection of stuffies, Kasumi glared at him. What the hell was he trying to do? Well, besides dig himself a deeper grave. "My relationship status is none of your business." The crimson eyes narrowed once more before she felt tempted to hit up upside the heat. Faint blush nipped at her cheeks as she thought about her stuffies. "Why're you asking about my collection!? Its none of your business!" God he had a death wish coming!! Closing her eyes tightly she calmed herself enough to throw a very thin smile to the student. "You're dismissed if you want to leave the grounds." Her voice was even before returning her attention to Markus. No she wouldn't show her anger by hitting him. No one was supposed to talk about her collection of stuffed animals. It wasn't supposed to be known information. God this was embarrassing. Even her men knew better than to bring it up to her in such a stupid manner. Hitting him upside the head was very tempting now. Letting out her breath slowly Kasumi bounded on her toes trying to see if movement would distract her from the anger licking at her over him being such an idiot.

Kasumi smiled sweetly, "You did indeed. Follow me Markus, lets see how much fun you have." Her voice was cold despite the warm smile on her face. Moving with ease from the other man the shinigami moved with ease towards the detainment sector. Laughter showed in her eyes as they got closer.

[Markus]

There was a light chill as Markus gave a slight shiver. He knew what the maggots nest was, and although he knew Kasumi would think him not strong enough or ‘man enough’ to enjoy himself for his stay he knew otherwise. Markus wasn’t insane but he loved to test waters, and he knew he had played his cards to anger Kasumi. Now watching her eyes twitch and her bright smile Markus knew he had succeeded in his goal, and that they were off to the place he had fully intended on visiting today. Information was the name of his game and defense he wanted to know how secure the maggots nest was, and now he had an entire night to check on its security measures. If this was to be his last act of the captain of the 13th division it would pronounce and give a great manner of insight to the one who would proceed him, and all he had to do was annoy a rather cute captain to do it. “If I survive the night I want, you to give me a second chance to make a first impression. On a date, and if you really do read into rumors you know that I am not kidding when I ask for that, and you also know I have the same track record as oh say the Hindenburg had survivors.”

Markus walked with Kasumi towards the maggots nest, she was seeming to enjoy this it was a real shame that he had to rain on her parade by simply not being afraid. He was a kido expert and, he knew full well how to get out of those bloody seals, and knew that Kasumi wasn’t the type to take away his kido powers since he was just a guest. Anyone who wanted to fight him could have a giant lightning rod stuck up their ass. There was also the problem of his zanpakuto, he pulled out the small concealed tanto blade and flicked it so that he was holding it by the blade with the handle outstretched. “I will expect to have her back by morning if you please. Weapons are not allowed down in the Maggots nest if I am correct so I will not require her assistance. Oh and I will know if anyone other than you has touched her so do keep her in your possession for the night.” Markus was fun loving but knew that he had hurt the other captains feelings by mentioning her stuffy collection, a rumor he had only known of because a convert from squad two, and he had something to remedy the situation but he had wisely enough left it at home.

“In my home in my room on my night stand there is something for you, consider it a gift because I knew I would have to act unprofessional to get to this point. If the rumors about your collection are true then you are welcome to it, I would give you my keys but I think we have established that would be a waste of my time, and no fun for your skills.” Markus gave her a genuine smile he had no idea how she was going to react only that he was most certainly spending the night in the maggots nest, and honestly that was the best way to avoid her anger just let the captain have her way as it benifieted both of them, and then come back in the morning when the dust had settled.

The hell? He wanted to go on a date with her? Slowly the white hand curled up in a fist. Was it arrogance that made him ask such a thing from her? Most men knew better than to go out of their way to insult the petite sized woman. Kasumi shot a glance to Markus for a moment debating on how to reply to him. "A new start I can allow, but a date seems a far shot off Captain Alistair." Kasumi spoke evenly as they continued walking towards the Maggot's Nest. It was going to be fun to see him locked away in such a place. God the other captain seemed to be a moron to test the bounds of her anger. For the most part she was forgiving on the other she couldn't give two shits about how others viewed her. The crimson eyes remained locked ahead of her knowing that he had to find her at least a little attractive to want and have a date with her. Honestly Markus was the only dumbass who requested a date from her. Something more subtle like giving her stuffed animals could be used to win her affection, but being a bold moron? She could care less. God some people were stupid at times. The crimson eyes moved down the hallways idly with a light frown on her face. Some of the squad members were wondering why she was heading to the locked sector with an outsider shinigami. Kasumi kept a straight face as they glided in silence down the cool hallway. Despite the hallway being cool the woman felt over heated. Probably because he made a mockery of everything she enjoyed. Markus didn't seem to be smart at all but that was his issues not her own. Kasumi didn't give a shit what powers he had, this just gave her time not to be around the guy. Kasumi didn't do well with people asking her out on a date. Actually most people had more common sense not to even bring it up.

Kasumi paused when Markus pulled out a blade, her fingers dipping to her own weapon before she relaxed. Picking up the other man's weapon she weighed it before Kirin grumbled about having to deal with a bird. Kasumi rolled her eyes at him before nodding her head to Markus. "I didn't plan on giving it to anyone else, Markus." Her voice was even as she spoke these words to him. Sliding the tanto away into the confines of her pocket Kasumi once more broke into a stride heading to the locked part of her squad. After going through the whole DNA bullcrap thing 12th division put in here, Kasumi walked through motioning Markus to come with her. Kasumi understood the bond between spirit and master more than anything so she didn't mind that Markus reminded her to keep it. Kirin wasn't happy and grumbled she should get rid of it. Kasumi didn't know what the hell she was going to do with her bitchy spirit. Perhaps just ignore him for a bit. Though ignoring the creature never worked out well in her favor. It was a shame Markus had dug himself a hole with her considering what good of an alley she could've made. Now things would be awkward because he wanted something that she considered immoral for a captain. There was no time for dates, not when she had work to worry about all the time. The thought made her blink before continuing in the depths of the prison, there was still more gates to pass. Would Markus be able to last or break and what to come out? This was an interesting theory. Tipping her head for a moment the petite doll offered a grim look to the man.

Kasumi blinked, and then glared. "You did this on purpose?! You're an idiot Captain Alistair." She murmured before opening the main gate and shoving him through. Her men would take care of the rest from there. So he was changing squads? Nice. Then he wouldn't be so close to her. The thought was one that made her smile brightly as she stepped back from the gate waving good bye.
