Re: TryOut: Xarath Shiru; En-sama [APPROVED]
Xarath stepped out from the room, shielding his eyes from the blinding sunlight until he got used to it. Until now he had been in it with his fellow Fukutaichous. It was not very big and reminded him more of a storage room than anything else. Certainly nothing compared to what the captains had.
"Oh well." he thought and clicked his tongue while watching the backs of his co-workers, who happily marched down the wooden floorboards, hands around each other's shoulders and happily chirping about what they were going to do today. Laying in the sun? Going out? Shopping?
Xarath clicked his tongue. Maybe he could understand a tiny little bit why they wanted to go shopping, but honestly now... they were the Vice of the Gotei 13 - could their minds not stay on the job while being on duty?
Xarath sneered in annoyance, waiting until the last Fukutaichou turned around the corner before stepping over to the reeling, leaning his arms on the red wood, once again surprised just how new it looked even though it had been here before he even thought about joining the Shinigami.
Fake. This whole place was so fake.
Once more the male clicked his tongue before lifting one of his arms and brushing loose stands of hair, which had been tickling his nose until now, behind his ear again. He already knew they would not stay there for long though, not with the breeze playing with them and his robes. Another annoyance, though by now he just could not care about it anymore. He was feeling tired. The male placed his arm back onto the wooden surface, enjoying the light warm it radiated off and bent his knees slightly, laying his cheek onto the back of his right hand.
This position was anything BUT comfortable, though after one hour of having to discuss important matters with them... he just needed a moment of solitude before heading back to work.
Work, he clicked his tongue twice, wondering if his Taichou was still attending the captain meeting. The tough woman probably disliked those as much as he did. Well, they were both people who disliked talking when action was needed, though... how could he be sure of that? At the end of the day he still could not look inside her mind.
Nobody could... especially not into hers.
Xarath clicked his tongue, deciding it would be wiser to just look if Oukami-taichou was free now and had new orders for him. Then...
"You heard about that? It's supposed to be a group, not a single Hollow, a group."
"Don' tell meh. Ya already told y capt'n?"
Immediately Xarath's eyes flew open, once more becoming blurry at the sudden brightness, though his attention was focused on the voices bellow him. A Hollow attack? Slowly he straightened himself, placing the palms of his hands against the red wood while peeking down on the heads of the two voices.
He did not know them, but that was no surprise.
Tongue click.
"I did." the first answered, the body moving slightly - he was probably shrugging. "But he said it does not matter. It's just one of those poorer parts of Eastern Rukongai." he voice continued, before the male started to walk - seemingly heading towards 7th.
"Che, nah surprisss' then. They 're lost alread' anyway." the second one answered before following his partner.
Xarath continued to watch the two men, his eyes blazing with furry and nails crawling into the wood under his fingers in silent anger. If he had paid any attention to that he would have wondered if those claw marks would be gone by tomorrow or not, but his thoughts were occupied by what the two males had talked about. Protection Squads! PROTECTION SQUADS! Had they decided like this to not come to rescue his village? Were the people of Rukongai this unimportant? Was the only meaning they had keeping the balance of souls?
Xarath growled deeply before finally letting go of the reeling, turning on his heels and hurrying down the long, seemingly golden corridor. He ignored to slight pad, pad noise his feet left on the floor just as everybody else, passing him along the way, was ignored.
What was he supposed to do now? Judging from the discussion it was obvious that the captains too, were done with their meeting. Should he go and inform Oukami-taichou? Would she... let him go? Xarath clicked his tongue twice, finally stepping out of the building. He followed the white path, leading him towards one of Seireitei's gates. Seeing this whiteness right now did nothing to calm his mind. White. They had no right to use white. A bloody red would have fit this place by far better.
Why... did he bother about colors now? There were more important things that currently needed him to stay focused. He took a deep, calming breath and stopped down in his tracks. What was he supposed to do now? What... He was not some kind of hero. He couldn't care less about those people dying.
Or?
Xarath clicked his tongue twice. He did not know them and they certainly were not his business, but... he was in one of the protection squads... and back then he also hoped somebody would have come.
No, he had to see what was going on - especially as the man did have a point.
A group of Hollows was attacking. It was just too uncommon to have so many attack the same place. Was a strong spirit wooing them, tickling them out of their desert? If that were the case then he had to get that person here, before they attracted even more Hollows.
The only problem that remained, and it was certainly the biggest one, was if he should inform his captain or not. If he was honest with himself then he doubted that she would not let him go, IF there was anybody out there who understood his need, it would be her. Though, what if she followed him? He certainly did not want to waste her time like that, letting her feel forced to follow him.
Oukami-taichou was never forced though. He clicked his tongue. If she did not want to join in she probably would snort and brush him off, maybe - if she had a good day even wishing him good luck.
No... now he was making her seem like a monster when she was anything but. She had a set codex of moral and manners, a pride shining so brightly that others misjudged her. How dare those litt... he was going off topic again. Xarath clicked his tongue before sighing heavily. Maybe he should let her know - who knows... she might like the exercise? Would like to see herself what was going on? The woman would never turn her back on such matters, unlike her co-workers, who have adapted to the lifestyle of Seireitei far too quickly.
Once more the male clicked his tongue before he started to shunpo towards the Eastern gate, ignoring the whiteness that was flashing next to him - his thoughts still focused on his captain. He would let her know, if anything to show politeness, but he would not deliver the message. The gates were always buzzing with activity, he would pick out a lower seated Shinigami and let them inform his captain, while he would make himself on the way - trying to save what could be saved.
As he expected the the wide court in front of the Eastern gate, which was blazing white in the sunlight, was frequented by Shinigami. For once not caring who he was bothering, as keeping his taichou informed was by far more important, did he walk up to a random group of 4th Division Shinigami, greeting them politely before addressing a petite red-head. She seemed like somebody who could get the task done.
"I apologize for ambushing you out of the blue."
The redhead blinked confused up at him, but let him continue. "Though would you please hurry and deliver Oukami-taichou a message?" he murmured, his voice void of any emotion though.
The girl and her friends did not seem to notice thought, as she merely blinked again before starting to speak. "Can't you do it yourself? Just use a hellbu..."
"Do not, tell me what to do or not. I am Shiru-fukutaichou and if you need an order then I shall give you one." he interrupted her, patience running thin. "Inform Oukami-taichou immediately that her Fukutaichou went out to investigate the Hollow attack in Eastern Rukongai." Tongue click.
"Bu..."
He leaned down until the tips of their noses almost brushed against each other. "Do you not understand, ignorant fool? It is an order." he murmured coldly, his eyes once more blazing with furry.
The redhead by now understood that it indeed, was important to him and swallowed heavily before presenting him with a shaky nod. "O...of course, Shiru-fukutaichou." she stuttered nervously, glanced at her friends - who were now gawking at the impolite jerk, one last time and hurrying to deliver the message.
Xarath glared after the girl for a few moments, clicking his tongue twice before turning around and walking towards the wide gate, which, like the reeling, never seemed to have any traces of damage on it - the red still looking as fresh as on the first day the stone not sporting a single crack. Though what the girl had said, still did follow him - he honestly needed to learn how to work with hellbutterflies. It was annoying to ask people to... Tongue click.
Foolish thoughts always wandering off - he had a mission to accomplish.
He coldly ignored the giant guard and anything the male barked at him. It was not of his concern and if it really was a problem that he made himself on the way... well - he would deal with that later. Besides... the only opinion that mattered was hers.
Xarath clicked his tongue again before finally shunpoing towards the East - concentrating now on the reiatsu of the Hollows.
One of the poorer districts though... there really was a little chance that he'd make it.
-
Xarath could not help himself, but curse once he noticed that he had been right. Just a moment ago he had arrived in the 57th District and the scene that was presented to him rendered him speechless for a moment.
Three Hollows, all of them of different appearance, were causing havoc in the small village. The first, and most obvious of the three, was at least 8 feet tall and 11 feet long. The front of it reminded him of a bull, with the longish red mask which spread out into long horns of a darker red. The only other color on it was purple, which seemed to lick up its front legs like fire. There was no pair of legs on the back of its body, instead a long, white tail reminding him of a snake.
The second one was by far smaller and hard to see as it jumped from one damaged cottage into the next. If Xarath would have to guess he would have estimated it to be around 1'4" tall and its overall appearance reminding him of a dog. Though... limbs were spreading out from all over its body - making it look grotesque, but fitting to the high shriek it let out from time to time.
The third one of the trio was far too up in the sky for Xarath to see what it really was. It certainly had wings, but its silhouette did not remind of a bird at all. More like a ball that had managed to learn the art of flight.
What mattered more though, was that he had arrived far too late. Not a single human was heard anymore - the only noise was the shriek of the beast, which made him cringe slightly. Xarath clicked his tongue three times, before swallowing heavily - his eyes skimming the area in front of him. The cottages once had been built up in a circle, though it was hard to see now with the debris and wood spread everywhere. The few wooden cottages which were not yet made even with the ground had been set on fire - its flames licking away everything that once had been dearly to a person.
The fire... the debris... the corpses spread out all over the place... and the blood... Before Xarath could help himself a memory hit him - setting him back to the Hollow attack that had completely ruined everything he ha... In the last second he noticed how a wooden panel came flying his way. Immediately he side stepped, which caused it to shatter against the tree behind him - one of the wooden shards hitting his upper arm.
Stupid... he was so stupid... always sinking into thoughts when they did not matter at all.
Xarath clicked his tongue, unsheathed his zanpakuto and turned his attention back onto the trio - the second Hollow grinning at him, its eyes shimmering a poisonous green.
"Oh well." he thought and clicked his tongue while watching the backs of his co-workers, who happily marched down the wooden floorboards, hands around each other's shoulders and happily chirping about what they were going to do today. Laying in the sun? Going out? Shopping?

Re: TryOut: Xarath Shiru; En-sama [APPROVED]
Ruby had barely stepped three feet past the Captain's Delegation Hall when she was confronted by a tiny, red-haired cub. As soon as Rubianca had discerned the petite girls intention, she had crossed her arms and halted her step. She knew exactly why this little thing was bothering her. Xarath Shiru. It was always the same issue with him. Ruby shakes her head. Her ponytail swings from left to right and back again. "Learn to use a goddamn Hell Butterfly, idiot" she thought.
Ruby stood there, her expression stoic and her ferocious eyes astute. The 5th Division Captain stared into the small girls eyes, no, into her soul. The messenger was now in front of her, just feet away. They both just stood there, eyes locked. Rubianca's disposition remains resolute, but unfortunately, the same could not be said for the 4th Division Shinigami. The little thing was trembling. Ruby chuckles inwardly. Around them walked the other Captains, one by one. Some glared at the two and others passed without a hint of care. The female Oukami could give two shits what these idiots thought of the situation. Fuck off.
And then, the Delegation Hall's large gates close.
---
Just as Xarath's blade tip appears from within the darkened, oval shaped hole of the sheathe, Ruby appears atop the giant bull-like creature's shoulders. Before the disgusting beast could even look up, Ruby raises her left arm, buries it under her white, Captain's haori, unfastens Jin from its holster, wraps her fingers around the bamboo grip and pulls it out. In a flash, she lowers the fire-arm, points the barrel directly at the top of the creature's head and cocks the trigger. As the trigger completes its cycle, the hammer cocks in unison and then slams into the back of the revolver. Without delay, a loud shot resounds. A slight crimson energy sparks from the chamber as it revolves clockwise. From the front hole of the barrel launches a thin, condensed beam of crimson energy. Without missing a beat, she repeats this action five more times, one just a foot to the right and the other four just below the two above. A happy face of death. All six beams pass through the creature like a knife through warm butter. This all occurred in mere seconds. Her expression had remained completely blank the whole time.
Just as the final reiatsu bullet passes through the hollow's skull, the creature begins to fall front first towards the already dirtied ground. Great, more shit to clean. As the corpse descends, Ruby remains on its back-shoulders, her Captain's garments and hair wavering violently. Before the corpse even slams into the soil, Ruby begins to step, one foot after the other, over the creatures head. Just before impact, she hops down onto the ground, just in front of the now deceased hollow. The thump shakes the earth around her, but otherwise has no consequence. She then releases Jin's cylinder. The then empty chambers quickly fill with her crimson reiatsu. She cocks the cylinder back in place and re-holsters Jin.
She was now facing in the direction of Xarath. She nonchalantly turns, takes out a cigarette from her kimono's left pocket and then crouches in front of the bull's head. With the cig entrenched in between her thumb and index finger, she brings it down onto one of the still steaming, hot energy wounds and lights it. She then stands, turns towards Xarath, crosses her left arm under her right arm-pit and raises the smoke to her lips, but halts just before they reach. Her expression displays her annoyance.
In a raspy but annoyed tone, she commands "Sick em."

Re: TryOut: Xarath Shiru; En-sama [APPROVED]
The tip of his zanpakuto had not even left its sheath when she already appeared on the first Hollow's shoulder. The aura she seemed to radiate off, the way she stood on top of it... She was not amused. Not in the slightest.
Xarath swallowed heavily before his tongue clicked twice as he watched her left hand disappear under her right armpit. Jin. She was going to fire with Jin. Indeed, suddenly a loud shot rang through the area, making him cringe slightly at the noise. Though instead of stopping she repeated the action five more times. He really should not be surprised - the woman was doing everything thoroughly.
Before he could even decide if he should completely unsheathe his zanpakuto now or not the being already started to fall. With bewilderment written all over his face did he watch his captain riding the being to the ground - strength written in every pore of her being. As it finally connected with the ground, sending a strong gust of air against him, he swallowed heavily, ignoring how the loose strands of his hair were whipped around him while the wind tore on his uniform.
She was amazing, in everything she did... and the way she looked at him - she knew just too well how powerful she was. He clicked his tongue again, ignoring the Hollows as he continued to watch her lit her cigarette. Why had she used her gun though? Used her energy? Why was she even here, bothering? It made no sense.... and he found no explanation.
Her expression did not help him either. He clicked his tongue again, sheathing his zanpakuto. She was annoyed, very much so.
He cringed slightly and lowered his head ashamed. He had let her down, so he better deal with it.
After following her orders.
"As you wish, Oukami-taichou." he murmured. He wanted to tell her that she should not have come and certainly should not have wasted her energy on those Hollows.
Maybe he should not have said anything...
Stupid idea... she WOULD have found out and then... then he would have had to a lot more to pay than now.
Xarath lifted his head once more, bangs were hanging freely in his face, but he did not bother wasting any more thoughts on those. His eyes moved from the damaged cottage on the left towards the smaller Hollow, which was standing two feet next to it. It had its eyes set on the flying Hollow not too far above them, before it turned its eyes back onto Xarath, grinning widely.
Fucking Hollows.
Leaving his zanpakuto sheathed Xarath tensed the muscles of his legs, pressing them harder against the ground before kicking off shunpo'ing towards it. Before he could reach it though the flying Hollow appeared in front of him, while the dog one appeared next to his left.
That was expected.
Immediately Xarath pushed his left foot into the ground, stopping down instantly while turning his upper body to his left. He grabbed onto the grinning Hollows head, turned it until a loud 'crunch' was heard, before turning once around himself - using the speed of the motion to hit the dead Hollow's body against the flying one, which thought it could attack from behind. As soon as the bodies connected, Xarath let go of the dead Hollow, causing the flying one to crash against the damaged cottage - its body impaled onto one of the planks which stood out.
Xarath panted slightly from the exhaustion of lifting the smaller ones body, but could not help himself and grin at their fate.
Then, as if remembering where he was and more importantly who was with him, the grin was wiped off his face and he turned towards his captain, bowing respectfully.
"Sick em."
